San Antonio Spurs What To Watch:
On Saturday, the Spurs will come off a thrilling 113-103 victory at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a game that head coach Gregg Popovich was unable to attend due to sickness. Mitch Johnson, the assistant coach, led the team from the sidelines.
On Wednesday, Popovich did not travel with the team to Houston and Los Angeles.
Victor Wembanyama scored 17 points, Jeremy Sochan scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, and Keldon Johnson scored 25 points. With 15 points and 13 assists, veteran point guard Chris Paul was the star of the show.
After John Stockton, who achieved the milestone at age 41, Chris Paul, 39, is the second-oldest player to record double-digit assists in consecutive games.
Sochan scores 17.3 points and pulls down 8.5 rebounds per game, while Wembanyama leads the Spurs with 18.0 points and 9.8 rebounds. In his 20th NBA season, Paul has averaging 8.7 assists.
For the first time this season, the Spurs will travel to Los Angeles with a two-game winning streak.
Paul, who played with the Clippers for six seasons, including the 2016–17 season, acknowledges that he is interested in seeing his old team's new home.
LA Clippers What To Watch:
The Los Angeles Clippers, who are having trouble settling into their new home, will want to intensify the hostile atmosphere when they play the San Antonio Spurs on Monday at Inglewood, California.
Even the opponents have praised the Clippers' new $2 billion facility, which opened this season. The fact that they have won every game, however, may be what the visiting teams have enjoyed most.
The Clippers' usual second-half slump continued on Saturday as they lost 105-92 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, dropping them to 0-4 in their new arena. Los Angeles had a 57-53 lead at the half, but in the second half, they were only able to shoot 30 percent (12 of 40) from the field.
To far, the Clippers have led by double digits after halftime in three of their four home games and by the second half in all four.
Norman Powell, the Clippers' new go-to scorer, topped the club with 24 points on Saturday and has been leading the team with 25.2 points per game. Paul George left in free agency, while Kawhi Leonard is sidelined indefinitely due to a knee injury, leaving Los Angeles to fend for itself.
