Sacramento Kings What To Watch:
In their final warm-up game on Friday, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings wrap off their preparations for the 2024–25 NBA regular season.
It has been a disappointing preseason campaign for the Kings, who will be hoping to end their four-game losing run and boost their spirits before the season opener, while the hosts set out to try to win four straight.
During their meeting with the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center on Wednesday, the Sacramento Kings' poor preseason performance continued as they lost 117-114.
For the first time in the preseason, head coach Mike Brown decided not to limit the playing time of his starters. However, Keyonte George scored 24 points and Lauri Markkanen ended with 21 to give the Jazz a hard-fought victory and move their record to 4-1.
Three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis was a noteworthy player for the Kings, finishing with a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds along with eight assists. Keegan Murray and De'Aaron Fox also had strong offensive contributions.
Sacramento is predicted to have a strong season, but Wednesday's loss will leave Brown perplexed because they have now lost all four of their warm-up games, which is the first time they have dropped four straight since January.
Los Angeles Clippers What To Watch:
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Dallas Mavericks 110-96 at the Intuit Dome on Tuesday, securing a commanding lead ahead of the regular season.
The Clippers, led by Kevin Porter Jr., displayed class on both sides of the court as they won their first-ever game at their new venue in Inglewood. They scored 39 points off of Dallas' mistakes and 36 fast-break points.
Six players finished with ten or more points, including James Harden with ten from a 25% field goal, but Porter cemented his position as the Clippers' top scorer of the season with eighteen points.
After losing to the Golden State Warriors 91-90 to start the preseason on October 6, when Lindy Waters' game-winning 3-pointer put an end to them, Tyronn Lue's team has won three straight games, scoring at least 100 points in each of those contests.
Floor general Kawhi Leonard has not played in the preseason and is expected to be sidelined for some time, so it appears that LA has up their defensive efforts as well. Thus far, they have limited three of their four opponents to fewer than 100 points.
