Sacramento Kings What To Watch:
This Friday at the Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings will face off once more in the NBA preseason.
The Warriors defeated the Kings 122-112, thanks to a prolific 3-point shooting performance by Buddy Hield, who shot 6-7 from beyond the arc. Following the four-time NBA champion's departure to Dallas this offseason, Hield was projected to replace Klay Thompson. On his debut, he showed promise with 22 points and three rebounds. Jonathan Kuminga scored 16 points, and Steph Curry finished with 13 points in 15 minutes.
The Kings' defense problem is the same as that of the Golden State Warriors. Even though they have a strong offensive line, Sabonis cannot be the only contributor to their defense. Keegan Murray could end up on the roster for the All-Defensive team.
Golden State Warriors What To Watch:
When the Warriors broke their franchise record of 27 three-pointers, they made their offensive intentions very evident. In the meantime, the Kings started DeMar DeRozan, their surprise acquisition this summer, and the seasoned veteran was having success with his new team.
The Warriors' main goal has not altered with Thompson's departure. Despite early season previews portraying the Dubs as a midfield team that is currently only a playoff candidate, Steph Curry made it very apparent that the team wants to win a championship. But Golden State dispelled any thoughts by making a dazzling 3-pointer.
The emphasis will be on the Golden State Warriors' defense. It will be intriguing to see if Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, and Gary Payton II can support the team's efforts on that end of the floor, even though Draymond Green remains the primary weapon.
