Portland Trail Blazers What To Watch:
Over the first two weeks of the season, the Portland Trail Blazers and New Orleans Pelicans are becoming extremely acquainted.
The Trail Blazers and Pelicans will play their third meeting Monday night in New Orleans after splitting two games in Portland during the first weekend of the season.
In the beginning, both teams have had difficulty.
The Blazers are hoping to bounce back after a challenging run of consecutive defeats. They lost to the Phoenix Suns 103-97 on Sunday after losing 137-114 to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.
New Orleans Pelicans What To Watch:
The Pelicans, who are shorthanded, will play their own back-to-back after losing to the Atlanta Hawks 126-111 on Sunday.
Along with four other important players, Zion Williamson, the Pelicans' second-leading scorer, was sidelined for the game against the Hawks due to a hamstring injury. Brandon Ingram, the top scorer, made 12 of 19 field goals and finished with 32 points.
Ingram, who has been urged by coach Willie Green to make more 3-pointers, made 4 of 8 of them on Sunday.
New Orleans was outscored 68-52 in the second half despite leading by one point at the break. Jordan Hawkins, who finished with 19 points, said the Pelicans' 18 turnovers, six of which occurred in the fourth quarter, were the main cause of their second-half slump.
In its last two games, Portland was outscored in the third quarter. After being knotted with the Thunder at the half, the Blazers lost the third quarter by a score of 38–17. Before falling down by 22 going into the fourth quarter and catching up to two in the last two minutes, Portland had a four-point lead over the Suns at the half.
