Orlando Magic What To Watch:

Orlando lost to the Dallas Mavericks 108-85 on Sunday night, extending their losing streak to three games.

Monday's game will be the fourth in Orlando's five-game trip, and the Magic are 0-1 on the second night of a back-to-back this season.

Jett Howard, a second-year forward, has taken on a larger role in Banchero's absence. In Sunday's defeat, Howard played a career-high 22 minutes.

Wendell Carter Jr., who started against the Mavericks after missing Friday's loss at Cleveland due to right knee tendinitis, may be out for the Magic.

However, Carter left the game in the second quarter after playing for less than nine minutes. After injuring his left foot's plantar fascia, he became distraught while sitting on the bench.

Goga Bitadze, another Magic center, has missed the previous four games due to a strained tendon in his left foot.

The Thunder and Magic will play one other twice this season, starting on Monday. Last season, Oklahoma City won all of their meetings. Since the beginning of the 2020–21 season, the Magic have not triumphed in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Thunder What To Watch:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the star of the Oklahoma City Thunder, isn't getting overly excited about his team's perfect start.

The Thunder will try to continue their winning ways on Monday night against the visiting Orlando Magic after getting out to a 6-0 start for the first time since the team relocated from Seattle to Oklahoma City in 2008.

After finishing third the previous season, Oklahoma City now ranks in the center of the NBA in terms of offensive rating, averaging 112.5 points per 100 possessions.

However, with a defensive rating of 95.1 points per 100 possessions, the Thunder are far ahead of the rest of the NBA. As of Monday's slate, no other team in the league is letting up fewer than 101.

In six games this season, Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 26.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.8 steals.

His willingness to shoot from the outside has been his biggest shift. Gilgeous-Alexander's three-point shooting average of 7.2 is double that of the previous campaign.

No game has been closer than a dozen points, and Oklahoma City has won by an average of 17.7 points per game.

The Thunder just defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 105-92 on Saturday.

Oklahoma City will play seven of its next eight games at home after Monday's contest.

The Magic are having trouble since losing Paolo Banchero, the 2022 NBA Draft's first overall pick and one pick ahead of Oklahoma City's Chet Holmgren, while the Thunder are scorching.

Banchero lost to Chicago on Wednesday after suffering a torn right oblique. It will be four to six weeks before he is reassessed.
