Oklahoma City Thunder What To Watch:

In recent seasons, including a historic 62-point victory in January of last year, the Oklahoma City Thunder have destroyed the Portland Trail Blazers.

When the Thunder visit the Trail Blazers on Friday night, they hope to continue their winning streak and extend their lead over Portland to 13 games.

The 139-77 triumph on January 11 is the second-worst loss in Trail Blazers history and tied for the fifth-largest loss in NBA history. Portland's field goal percentage was 27.7 percent.

During the Thunder's four wins last season, that wasn't the only crushing defeat. On November 19, 2023, Oklahoma City also recorded a 134-91 victory on the road.

When Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum were still the starting backcourt for the Trail Blazers on April 3, 2021, Portland's most recent series victory was a 133-85 thumping at home.

Oklahoma City, which has won its first four games this season by an average of 17.5 points, is obviously a very different club after three and a half seasons. In the Western Conference, the Thunder are the only team without a loss. In the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers are likewise undefeated.

The Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-93 at home on Wednesday, continuing their impressive start. Chet Holmgren, a huge man from Oklahoma City, defeated Victor Wembanyama of San Antonio by a landslide.

Wembanyama only scored six points on one out of five shots, whereas Holmgren scored 19 points on seven out of ten shots.

Holmgren claimed that the NBA's promotion arm is what drives the excitement surrounding the matchup, therefore he was unmoved by his dominance. Holmgren finished second last season, while Wembanyama was named NBA Rookie of the Year.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a star for Oklahoma City who averaged over 30 points per game the previous two seasons, is currently leading the squad with an average of 26 points per game after four games. In addition, he has 1.5 blocks, 2.5 steals, 6.0 assists, and 7.5 rebounds.

With averages of 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, Jalen Williams is also having a great start.

Portland Trail Blazers What To Watch:

The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Clippers 106-105 on the road on Wednesday.

Anfernee Simons recorded his third 20-point performance of the season with 25 points. He leads the club with five assists per game and averages a team-high 20.6 points.

In addition to his 15 points and 12 rebounds, big man Deandre Ayton produced a crucial steal by catching a last-second lob shot that was headed for Ivica Zubac of the Clippers.

To begin the season, Ayton has already collected five consecutive double-doubles.

After averaging 26 points in his first three games, Jerami Grant has had consecutive subpar performances. He scored eight points on 3-of-14 shooting against the Clippers and only seven points on 3-of-12 shooting in Monday's 111-98 away defeat to the Sacramento Kings.
