Washington Wizards vs Memphis Grizzlies What To Watch:
Other elements of a win are sometimes forgotten when Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is forced to exit a game due to another injury, which is a result of his high-flying agility.
In the third quarter of the Grizzlies' 131-114 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, Morant sustained a right hamstring injury. After trying a left-handed slam and landing a little awkwardly, Morant was injured. With 3:27 remaining in the quarter, he left the game, walked to the locker room, and never returned.
There is no word on his health for Friday's game against the visiting Washington Wizards.
Wells, an early-season surprise, continued to demonstrate that he can play a considerable amount of minutes on the court, while Jackson was especially unstoppable on his relentless drives to the rim.
Jackson's influence is felt when Morant is not on the court at the same time, according to Grizzlies assistant coach Tuomas Iisalo, who filled in as interim coach on Wednesday while Taylor Jenkins was out because of a loss in the family.
Jackson made a few of his trademark half-hook jumpers in the closing minutes of the first quarter against the Lakers, and he drained a 3-pointer in the last seconds to give the Grizzlies a 10-point lead.
While Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane heal from early-season injuries, Wells has shown himself to be a reliable backup starter. His 28 minutes played were typical, but his 20 points was a career high. In a victory over Philadelphia on November 2 (36 minutes) and a defeat to Brooklyn on November 4 (33 minutes), he topped the squad in minutes played.
Another player in his first year is helping Washington. In Monday's 125-112 home loss to Golden State, Kyshawn George had a breakthrough performance for the Wizards, one of the NBA's newest teams.
George, 20, finished with four assists, six rebounds, and 20 points. He played 38 minutes, which was a season high.
After struggling and missing his first six strokes, he bounced back fast.
