New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers What To Watch:

On Friday night, the Indiana Pacers were given a sobering look at their worst-case scenario, while the New York Knicks were given another look at their upside.

In the season's second meeting between the longstanding Eastern Conference rivals, the Knicks and Pacers will each try to build consistency on Sunday afternoon when they play in Indianapolis.

After their thrilling games on Friday, when the visiting Pacers fell apart in the second half of a 103-83 loss to the Charlotte Hornets and the host Knicks swept to a 116-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, both teams had Saturday off.

After adding Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns to their starting lineup in the offseason, the Knicks had their fourth victory of the season. They had won by at least 20 points for the third time.

A total of 46 points separated New York's four defeats. The season-opening 132-109 loss to the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics accounted for half of that total difference.

When the Knicks led the Bucks from end to end on Friday, the old and new components came together once more in spectacular manner. On November 1, New York defeated the Detroit Pistons 128-98, accomplishing the identical feat.

Towns led the Knicks with 32 points and 11 rebounds, while Bridges finished with 17 points. On Friday, six Knicks players scored in double digits. Jalen Brunson (15 points, 9 assists) almost missed a double-double, while holdover Josh Hart (11 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists) came close to a triple-double.

Friday's game, which was decided by more than seven points for just the second time this season, taught the Pacers some hard lessons. After overcoming a 10-point deficit in the first half and starting the third quarter with a 20-7 surge, Indiana looked to be headed for a resounding victory. However, the Hornets outscored the Pacers 29–17 in the fourth quarter and ended the game with a 23-2 run.

In the first half, Charlotte only made 37.8% of her shots from the field. The Hornets shot 56.3 percent (18 of 32) in the last 18 minutes of the third quarter and made eight of their 11 attempts, including five of six from beyond the arc.

The Pacers ended the third quarter with a 1-for-10 record after wasting eight of their first nine shots. In the Hornets' comeback, Indiana missed 11 of their last 12 3-point attempts.

In terms of both free-throw percentage (57.1%) and field-goal percentage (39.8%), Indiana posted season lows overall. The Pacers' score of 83 points was their lowest since they lost to the Miami Heat 87-82 on December 12, 2022.
