New Orleans Pelicans vs Orlando Magic What To Watch:

The New Orleans Pelicans host the Orlando Magic on Friday night, bringing together two struggling and undermanned teams.

Due to injury, the Magic have dropped five straight games, while the Pelicans have dropped three in a row.

Trey Murphy III, Herbert Jones, CJ McCollum, and Dejounte Murray are all out for the Pelicans, but Zion Williamson (29 points) and Jordan Hawkins (seven) returned on Wednesday night. They lost 131-122 after playing their seventh starting lineup in nine games and coming within striking distance of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were still unbeaten.

The first half, which ended tied at 59-all, was dominated by New Orleans. In the third quarter, the Cavaliers outscored the Pelicans 40-29, but New Orleans rallied to go within six points in the fourth quarter.

The Magic lost to the Indiana Pacers 118-111 on Wednesday, capping a road trip that included all five of their losses in the current run. In the first half, Orlando fell behind by as many as eighteen points before rallying and losing.

Orlando suffered defeats against Oklahoma City 102-86 on Monday and Dallas 108-85 on Sunday. A five-game homestand will start with the matchup with the Pelicans.

Center Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) missed the game against Indiana and is considered day-to-day, while All-Star Magic big Paolo Banchero (oblique) is anticipated to miss a few more weeks.

In place of Carter, Goga Bitadze has started the last two games. Against the Pacers, he finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Anthony Black scored a season-high 12 points after coming off the bench.

Orlando has struggled with slow starts; in the first quarters of their last four games, they have been outscored by an average of 12.8 points.
