Utah Jazz vs Milwaukee Bucks What To Watch:
The New York Knicks will play the Milwaukee Bucks in the second part of a back-to-back series when they return home on Friday after a four-game road trip with the goal of ending a two-game losing streak.
Milwaukee crushed the visiting Utah Jazz 123-100 on Thursday, ending a six-game losing streak. After scoring a combined 77 points in consecutive defeats to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday and Monday, Damian Lillard scored 34 points.
Lillard has scored at least 30 points in five of the Bucks' eight games this season and at least 33 points in four of the last five games.
This season, the Bucks' other star is also performing admirably. In Thursday's crushing victory, Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points and 16 rebounds.
Antetokounmpo's availability for Thursday's game was only revealed a few hours prior to kickoff, since he missed Monday's game in Cleveland due to an adductor injury.
After defeating the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons to start their road trip, New York lost to the Houston Rockets 109-97 on Monday and the Atlanta Hawks 121-116 on Wednesday.
Against the Hawks, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 34 points. The Knicks defeated the Heat on October 30 to begin the road trip, and the All-Star forward, who was acquired in an offseason trade that sent Julius Randle to the Minnesota Timberwolves, scored 44 points.
Towns' Wednesday effort was unable to help New York overcome the 79 points scored by the Atlanta trio of Trae Young, Jalen Johnson, and Zaccharie Risacher. Risacher, who was selected first overall in the June NBA Draft, scored a career-high 33 points.
In their four losses so far this season, the Knicks have given up an average of 118 points per game. New York has given up 101 points per game in their last three victories.
Towns accepted responsibility for the Knicks' defeat in crucial areas like rebounding and interior defense, even if he scored a lot of points.
After giving up 58 points to Atlanta, New York is now giving up 51.4 points per game in the paint, and that's all without a man who should be one of the team's main interior players.
Because of a hamstring injury, Precious Achiuwa has not yet made an appearance this season. After joining the Knicks from the Toronto Raptors for the 2023–24 season, the 25-year-old big man averaged 7.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game in 49 games.
