Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic What To Watch:
While the Charlotte Hornets have had to adjust their rotations due to injuries, the Orlando Magic have had to figure out the best combinations to cover short-term holes in the lineup.
The Magic will look to improve to 5-0 at home when they play the teams Tuesday night in Orlando in their NBA Cup group-play opening. They are coming off a dominant second half in which they scored 60 points after halftime to thrash the Washington Wizards 121-94 on Sunday.
The Magic reached a season-high number of points, led by 23 points by forward Franz Wagner. For the last five games, Wagner has scored more points than Orlando.
The Magic are now aiming for a three-game winning run that would be the best of the season. Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) and Paolo Banchero (oblique) are still recovering from their injuries, thus the club is still figuring out how to compensate for their losses.
The Hornets rallied from a 16-point deficit with 9:44 left in regulation to lose 107-105 to the host Philadelphia 76ers in overtime on Sunday.
Guard LaMelo Ball led Charlotte, which is 1-3 away from home, with 38 points and eight assists. Ball was going out of bounds when he made a 3-pointer from the left corner to force OT and tie the score.
Four of the previous six games have seen Ball score more than thirty points.
Even though Anthony has only played 12.1 minutes per game on average so far this season, he still has an advantage, as seen by his 3-point shooting on Sunday.
The Hornets' 50-40 rebounding advantage over the 76ers is encouraging because they have been plagued by injuries at the post positions.
Tre Mann has been battling back pain in the Hornets' backcourt, which has cast doubt on his availability. Right off the bench, he has been a spark.
