The Milwaukee Bucks and 76ers both fell short of expectations in the previous season, but Wednesday's game in Philadelphia marks the start of a new chapter for both teams.

Milwaukee and Philadelphia have faced off in their respective season openers for the third consecutive season, although this one lacks some major star power.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, two players for the Bucks, will be primed to play on Wednesday. In contrast, Khris Middleton requires additional time to recover from offseason ankle surgery.

Philadelphia 76ers What To Watch:

The Philadelphia 76ers had Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and rookie Paul George on their roster. Philadelphia said on Tuesday that Embiid (knee) would probably miss the team's opening three games, while George (knee) will miss the opener.

Despite playing only 39 games due to in-season surgery on his left knee, Embiid averaged 34.7 points and 11.0 rebounds in 33.6 minutes per game last season.

George averaged 22.6 points per game for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2023–24 after inking a four-year, $212 million contract with Philadelphia in the offseason.

Maxey averaged 25.9 points and 6.2 assists last season, earning him the NBA's Most Improved Player award and earning him his first All-Star selection.

The Sixers are looking to bounce back from their six-game loss to the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs. For the first time since Embiid's tenure, they are still working to make it to the Eastern Conference finals.
