Game Info
Thursday, October 31st, 2024 8:00 PM ET
Bucks @ Grizzlies
FedExForum, Memphis, TN
Milwaukee Bucks What To Watch:
The NBA schedule designers did not grant the Milwaukee Bucks a reprieve.
They are currently playing five of their first seven games and four of their first five away from home.
The outcomes have not been agreeable.
The Bucks will attempt to halt a three-game losing streak, which includes consecutive road defeats to the Brooklyn Nets and the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics, when they travel to Memphis on Thursday night.
However, the Bucks are making an effort to maintain their composure.
Even though the squad is having trouble, Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a terrible start. Through four games, he has averaged 28.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
Lillard has averaged 28.0 points and 6.3 assists, almost matching Antetokounmpo's production.
Brook Lopez, a 17-year veteran center, has also pleased Milwaukee coach Doc Rivers with his play. On Monday, he played 32 minutes against Boston and finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Memphis Grizzlies What To Watch:
Memphis, like Milwaukee, is having a rough start to the season going into Thursday's game. In addition to their lopsided loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday, the Grizzlies have now dropped two consecutive games, both at home. Memphis defeated 126-123 despite leading by 20 points in the second quarter and 14 at the half.
The Grizzlies were destroyed by injuries and turnovers on Wednesday night. Two starters, Marcus Smart (ankle) in the first quarter and Desmond Bane (oblique) in the third, were sidelined by injuries, and Memphis committed 22 turnovers.
However, according to Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins, it's too soon to panic.
Last week, Memphis lost to the Rockets on the road after being outscored 69-43 in the second half.
Recently, Jenkins has criticized his team's defensive play; on Monday, the Grizzlies let the Bulls set a franchise record with 25 3-pointers made. Regarding the injury, Jenkins stated that if Smart and Bane are sidelined for an extended period of time, the Grizzlies will need to rely on their depth.
Brandon Clarke, a backup forward who scored 13 points on 5 of 5 field goals in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 119-106 loss to Brooklyn, had to give Taylor Jenkins some encouragement. Since his comeback from an Achilles injury that kept him out of six games the previous season, Clarke's performance was his best.
Seven feet four Additionally, Zach Edey, a Purdue graduate and the Grizzlies' 2024 first-round pick, seemed more at ease. In 18 minutes against the Nets, he scored 13 points on 6 of 9 shots.
