Milwaukee Bucks What To Watch:

The preseason finale between the Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks takes place on Thursday. The game will be the final opportunity for the Bucks and Mavericks to settle on their starting lineups before the 2024–25 NBA regular season begins. Important players for both teams are still dealing with injuries, though.

Milwaukee, which is 1-2 in exhibition action, is still missing star winger Khris Middleton, who is recovering from two ankle ailments.

Given that Doncic is anticipated to be out, Antetokounmpo will probably be the team's best player on Thursday. Through two preseason games, the two-time MVP is averaging a team-best 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in just 21.5 minutes per game. He seems ready for another successful campaign, for that reason.

According to reports, Doncic participated fully in Wednesday's practice. However, Jason Kidd, the coach of the Mavericks, said he would most likely "not participate" in Thursday's preseason finale. For their teams to play at full strength, Bucks and Mavericks supporters will therefore probably have to wait until the regular season.

In Doncic's absence, Dallas' reserve guards Jaden Hardy (16.3 ppg) and Jazian Gortman (12.7 ppg) have spearheaded the team's offensive efforts. Irving, meanwhile, scored 12 points in his lone exhibition game. Big men Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford have also provided the Mavericks with decent frontcourt play.

But in two games, Thompson has only averaged 5.0 points per game on 16.7% shooting, which is a terrible start for him. He will therefore try to get back to normal before the regular season begins
