Milwaukee Bucks What To Watch:
The Milwaukee Bucks had nearly equal point totals in their opening two games of the new season, despite strong performances from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
The Bucks must bounce back from their first loss when they face the winless Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. The Bucks' season-opening away triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers and their home opener against the Chicago Bulls differed in other ways.
Milwaukee defeated Philadelphia 124-109 on Wednesday to begin their first full season under coach Doc Rivers. Lillard and Antetokounmpo combined for 55 points. In their first game against a team without Joel Embiid and Paul George, the Bucks had six players score in double digits, shot 53.8 percent, made 16 3-pointers, and gave up 41.8 percent shooting.
Despite having 66 points between Lillard and Antetokounmpo on Friday, the Bucks struggled in the second half and lost to the Bulls 133-122. After halftime, Lillard and Antetokounmpo combined for 34 points, outscoring Milwaukee 70-58.
Antetokounmpo and Lillard combined for a 26 of 44 (59.1 percent) shooting percentage, but both players faltered in one crucial area, which hurt the Bucks' overall shooting percentage of 49.5 percent. Lillard made 3 of 12 3-point attempts on Friday after making six in the season opening, while Antetokounmpo was 8 of 16 at the free-throw line and is already 17-for-32 (53.1 percent).
Brooklyn Nets What To Watch:
In an attempt to prevent their first 0-3 start since losing the first seven games of the 2015–16 season, the Nets make a comeback for Jordi Fernandez's home coaching debut.
Brooklyn wants to steer clear of the same pattern of excessive fouls and turnovers that plagued them in their two defeats against Atlanta and Orlando.
The Nets had 19 turnovers and 32 fouls in their opening loss of 120-116 at Atlanta on Wednesday. They also had 19 giveaways and 31 fouls in their 116-101 loss at Orlando on Friday, where they were outscored 53-36 in the last 17+ minutes.
The Nets gave up 42 points due to turnovers and 56 free throws on 79 attempts as a result of the fouls.
