Miami Heat What To Watch:
The NBA Global Games series resumes Saturday night in Mexico City with the Heat and Wizards playing two Eastern Conference rivals.
One of the league's three foreign matches this season is the Dia de Los Muertos matchup. The NBA is playing a regular season game in the Mexican capital for the fourteenth time.
On Saturday, both clubs will be without important players. Duncan Robinson and Kevin Love, two Miami forwards, are sidelined for personal reasons against the Heat (2-2). The Wizards (2-2) will be without Malcolm Brogdon (thumb), Saddiq Bey (knee), and Kyle Kuzma (groin).
Compared to previous years, the Heat's offense appears different. In each of the previous five seasons, Jimmy Butler has at least tied for the team lead in points per game. This season, however, Tyler Herro has assumed a larger role and leads the club in both points (22.2) and field goal attempts (16.5) per game, with Terry Rozier coming in second at 18.5 and 14.3, respectively.
Despite only taking 10.8 shots per game, Butler is shooting a team-high 48.8 percent from the field. With an average of 16.8 points per game, the 35-year-old is headed for his lowest point total in almost ten years.
The decline in Bam Adebayo's output is more noticeable; thus far this season, the center has only averaging 11 points per game on 39.5 percent field goal shooting, down from 19.3 and 52.1 percent the previous season.
Washington Wizards What To Watch:
After losing to Boston and Cleveland to start the season, the Wizards swept a home-and-home series against Atlanta before traveling to Mexico City. In the fourth quarter of their first victory over Atlanta, Kuzma left the game, but in their second game without him, the Wizards defeated the Hawks by a score of 13.
With 22.5 points and a strong 3-point shooting performance, Jordan Poole leads the Washington team. On over nine attempts per game, he is making 57.1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.
With Kuzma out of the starting lineup, Frenchman Bilal Coulibaly, in his second season, has become a scoring threat. In the Wizards' most recent game, he scored a career-high 27 points, raising his season average to 18.8 points per game.
The Wizards and Heat won't play again until March 3 in Miami after Saturday. Games on March 31 and April 13, the last day of the regular season, will come after that.
