Memphis Grizzlies What To Watch:

Coaches Taylor Jenkins of the Memphis Grizzlies and Jordi Fernandez of the Brooklyn Nets have different opinions on their teams' weekend performances.

After the Grizzlies outperformed the Philadelphia 76ers by doing a little bit of everything, Jenkins was happy with the team. A lot of things about Brooklyn's fourth loss of the season annoyed Fernandez.

When the clubs meet in Brooklyn on Monday for the second time in less than a week, Jenkins and the Grizzlies try to win three straight games while the Nets try to recover from a bad showing.

Despite Marcus Smart's (ankle) and Desmond Bane's (oblique) absences, the Grizzlies have had their greatest defensive performances of the first two weeks after the Nets' 119-106 victory in Memphis on Wednesday. The night after losing to the Nets, they easily defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 122-99. Memphis' victory over Philadelphia on Saturday, 124-107, came after that.

The Grizzlies outscored the 76ers 70-34 in the paint and had a lead of up to 25. Additionally, the Grizzlies shot a season-high 55.2 percent.

Four nights after dominating the Nets for thirty points, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored twenty-seven. Ja Morant recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 assists, while Jay Huff contributed 20 points.

Brooklyn Nets What To Watch:

The Nets lost to the Detroit Pistons 106-92 at home on Sunday, with few bright spots. Fernandez suffered his team being outscored 47-27 and watched as they let the Pistons shoot 68.8% in the paint.

It was the fifth time the Nets had been outscored thus far, but the margin was never greater than four in any of the other four cases.

After averaging 118.3 points per game in their first six games, the Nets were restricted to their fewest points this season in addition to their rebounding problems. Brooklyn made 45.1 percent of their shots but concluded with a season-low 29 percent (9-of-31) 3-point shooting and a season-low 19-of-31 (61.3 percent) free-throw shooting percentage.

The Nets' season-high 26 points were set by Cameron Johnson, who scored 22 of them in the first half. Cam Thomas averaged 28.2 points per game in Brooklyn's first six games before being restricted to 17 points and shooting 6 of 17.

With a new lineup, the Nets will try to bounce back from their poor performance.

After undergoing back surgery in March, Ben Simmons is not expected to participate on the second night of the back-to-back game.
