Golden State Warriors What To Watch:
When the Golden State Warriors play their road winning streak against old friend Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards in the nation's capital on Monday night, they anticipate having Stephen Curry back in the starting lineup.
Curry has missed the Warriors' last three games, all of which have been victories, after he hurt his left ankle in a home defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers on October 27.
The club's five-game journey started on Saturday night with a 127-121 overtime victory over the Houston Rockets, and the 10-time All-Star and 2024 Olympic gold medalist has been with the squad. Golden State's road record now stands at 3-0 after the victory.
Curry underwent another evaluation on Friday, was cleared to train with the team, and the Warriors say he has made good progress up until Monday's match. However, depending on how he feels throughout the warm-up, he will be marked as doubtful.
Draymond Green, another veteran, thinks the Warriors have come together around the idea that they are a pushover without Curry.
Washington Wizards What To Watch:
Poole had a rough first two games against the Warriors after being traded to the Wizards last offseason. Despite shooting just 12-for-38, including 5-for-20 on 3-pointers, he scored 37 points overall in the defeats. He had seven turnovers as well.
The 25-year-old is leading the team with 22.2 points per game and is off to a strong start in his second season with Washington. In four out of five games, including the past three, he has scored more than 20 points. On Saturday, he scored 21 points in the Wizards' 118-98 loss to the Miami Heat in Mexico City.
