Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder What To Watch:
With an average player age of just 24.148 years old, the Oklahoma City Thunder, led by coach Mark Daigneault, are the youngest team in the NBA this season.
However, Daigneault claimed that it is now simpler to get ready for players like Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry as the team's core is gaining experience.
The Thunder and Warriors, two of the best teams in the Western Conference, will play each other on Sunday in Oklahoma City.
But it will still be very difficult to defend Steph Curry.
Curry has shot 40.8 percent from 3-point range and averaging 19.7 points and 6.2 assists per game. After missing the previous three games because of a left ankle injury, he has scored 21.0 points per game in his last three outings.
The matchup on Sunday is the last of Golden State's five-game road trip. The Warriors are currently 3-1 on the trip, but they just suffered a crushing defeat in Cleveland on Friday, losing 136-117. At halftime of that game, Golden State was down 41 points.
The Warriors, who went into Saturday with the second-best defensive rating in the NBA (106.5 points allowed per 100 possessions), had a rare drop. With 97.3 points per 100 possessions, the Thunder are the only team that is superior.
In terms of thefts per game, both defenses rank close to the top of the league; Golden State averages 9.8, while Oklahoma City averages an NBA-best 12.9. The Warriors average 6.0 blocks per game, while the Thunder lead the league with 7.3.
With 22.0 points off turnovers per game, Golden State leads the NBA, while the Thunder are tied for fourth place with 20.3.
In the first game of a six-game homestand, Oklahoma City defeated Houston 126-107 on Friday. The Thunder were paced by 26-year-old Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 29 points. Oklahoma City is led by the seventh-year guard, who averages 26.3 points and 6.4 assists per contest.
With an average of 17.8 points per game, the Thunder are 4-0 at home this season.
The teams' offensive philosophies are where they diverge most.
With 62.1 drives per game, Oklahoma City leads the league in this category. For the past four seasons, the Thunder have led the league in that area.
Despite their many basket attacks, Oklahoma City has only managed 19.1 free throw attempts per game, which is the third-lowest in the league.
In contrast, Golden State only averages 37.3 drives each game, which is more than just two other teams. Compared to the Thunder, who attempt 39.2 3-pointers per game, the Warriors attempt 41.1.
The first of three games the teams will play this season comes on Sunday.
