Golden State Warriors What To Watch:

Both teams' preseason runs have been dominated by new tactics. In order to fill Thompson's gap, head coach Steve Kerr made it plain that the club needed to make more three-pointers. Earlier this month, they shattered their franchise record for the most three-pointers made against the Sacramento Kings.

Green is crucial to their defense because he is supposed to inspire the other players to improve in that area.

Kerr and the Warriors face the task of getting their group of supporting players to perform at the same high level as Thompson, Green, and Curry in recent years. Thompson was deadly because of his defensive prowess and precision with the gun.

Los Angeles Lakers What To Watch:

On Tuesday, October 15, the LA Lakers will travel to the Bay Area to play the new-look Golden State Warriors in their preseason game at Chase Center. It will be a matchup between LeBron James and Stephen Curry. The pair played together as members of Team USA the previous time they played. James and Curry are now again competitors in the Western Conference following their gold medal win at the Olympics.

Prior to the big match, there are other plotlines to concentrate on. The summers of the two teams were quite different. Klay Thompson was traded from the Warriors to the Dallas Mavericks. To make up for a huge name, they were unable to sign Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz.

Buddy Hield, a sharpshooter, De'Anthony Melton, and Kyle Anderson, a utility plug-in, were all added. More significantly, they delivered on their promise to retain Curry by offering him an incredible $62.6 million deal.

The Purple and Gold didn't trade for any of the headline names, thus James' decision to accept a wage cut in order to get a major name also didn't work out. Players like Jonas Valenciunas, DeMar DeRozan, and Thompson all joined other teams.

Rather, they selected Dalton Knecht and Bronny James from the rookie pool. They kept their core group from the previous two seasons, but player development and a look at the post-LeBron James era took precedence over their win-now strategy.

Despite their losses, the Lakers have looked strong in their three preseason games, going 1-2. Redick has been open and outspoken about his plans for the season, and he committed to a lineup that worked.

While Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell, and James continue to be the main players carrying out the majority of the work, young guns Max Christie, Rui Hachimura, and Knecht have contributed that offensive spark.

Although the LA Lakers haven't exactly had a strong preseason in recent years, there is a subdued hope that they will have more productive warm-up games before their October 22 season start against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
