The Pistons won by 10 points at Philadelphia on Wednesday after losing their first four games by a total of 32 points. After that, Detroit lost to the New York Knicks 128-98 on Friday, falling behind by as much as 38 points.

Despite shooting 6-of-21 (26.8%) from the field and losing 39–13 in the first quarter on Friday, Detroit never bounced back from taking the lead after the first quarter in three of its first four games.

Cade Cunningham scored at least 20 points in every game and finished with 22 points. He was 1 of 5 in the first quarter but shot 10 of 19 from the field. At the half, the Pistons were behind 69-46.

Brooklyn Nets What To Watch:

Brooklyn Nets coach Jordi Fernandez is taking pleasure in some of the big shots Cam Thomas is making in his first few weeks on the job.

When the Nets play the Detroit Pistons on Sunday afternoon, they hope to win three straight games. Thomas is off to a great start, helping the team get off to a decent start.

The Nets, who are predicted to be among the worst teams in the NBA, have lost both of their opening six games under Fernandez, who was brought in during the summer after interim coach Kevin Ollie was fired after the team's 32-50 performance the previous season.

With victories over the Chicago Bulls, Memphis Grizzlies, and Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn is 3-1 in its last four games. Thomas scored 29 points in the fourth quarter of those victories, and the Nets outscored their opponents 88-62.

Thomas started 51 of 66 games last season and is now averaging 28.2 points overall, up from 22.5 at that time. After scoring 30 points or more 15 times in the previous season, the fourth-year guard has scored at least 30 points in three games this year.

The Nets surrendered a 17-point lead in the first half of their victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday, but they rallied in the second half to win 120–112. In the last 6:18, Brooklyn defeated the Bulls 16–8, and Thomas concluded with 32 points after scoring 10 points in a row in 1:55, including a 3-pointer from 33 feet out.

Although Thomas assisted in defeating a Bulls squad that had just won two 20-point comeback victories, the Nets are up against a team that has just suffered their most crushing defeat of the first several weeks.
