Game Info
Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 1:30 AM ET
Nuggets @ Timberwolves
Target Center, Minneapolis, MN
Denver Nuggets What To Watch:
After working hard to record back-to-back wins earlier this week, the Denver Nuggets had a two-day rest.
When the teams face off on Friday night in Minneapolis, Denver will focus on the Minnesota Timberwolves, another dominant team in the Western Conference.
Both of the Nuggets' overtime victories—127-125 against the Toronto Raptors on Monday and 144-139 against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday—took place away from home.
The Nuggets may be in for another close game against the Timberwolves, based on recent experience.
Minnesota Timberwolves What To Watch:
The Western Conference semifinals from the previous season, which the Timberwolves won in seven games, will be rematched on Friday. Minnesota advanced to the Western finals after winning the first two games, losing the next three, and winning the final two.
Notable roster changes were made by both teams throughout the summer. In exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo moving to Minnesota, the Timberwolves traded longstanding fan favorite Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks. In order to bring leadership both on and off the court, the Nuggets brought in veteran Russell Westbrook and let Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to leave via free agency.
Both teams stick to their previous season's objective despite the new players. Both of them aspire to finish close to the top of the conference and advance far in the playoffs, which might lead to another postseason series matchup.
With an average triple-double (31.5 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists) throughout the first four games, Nikola Jokic leads the Nuggets. Aaron Gordon is in third place with 15.5, followed by Jamal Murray in second place with 18.8.
Anthony Edwards, who leads the Timberwolves with an average of 30 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists, could be considered similarly. Compared to previous season, when he shot 35.7 percent from 3-point range, Edwards is now shooting 41.5 percent.
Randle comes next with 7.5 rebounds and 23.3 points. Rudy Gobert is on the verge of a double-double with 9.5 points and a team-high 11.3 rebounds, while Naz Reid is averaging 13.8 points and 7.5 rebounds.
After losing to the visiting Dallas Mavericks 120-114 on Tuesday, Minnesota is hoping to recover.
