Dallas Mavericks What To Watch:

Luka Dončić had a career playoff average of 8.2 assists per game before this series versus Boston. The Celtics have mostly suppressed that part of Luka's game outside of a Game 2.

He has 5.8 assists during the Finals, but he is about to have another strong passing performance. With Game 4 giving them a slight boost in confidence, the Mavericks have already played two games in the hostile TD Garden.

The role players will feel a little more at ease with catch-and-shoot situations once both of those components are in place.

 

Boston Celtics What To Watch:

Boston has been somewhat evasive about Kristaps Porziņģis' injuries. Before Game 4, his coach informed reporters that he was theoretically ready, but would require a catch, even though he missed Game 3.

According to Joe Mazzulla, Porziņģis will "only be used in specific instances, if necessary." Unless there is an emergency, it appears that the team does not want to put his dislocated posterior tibialis (or another body part, because of overcompensation for the ankle) at further risk.

It's not desperate to be up 3-1 going into Game 5 at home. Therefore, anticipate that the Celtics will continue to play it slow when KP returns.
