Boston Celtics What To Watch:

Even though the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets had some contentious moments during their Friday night game, there was a lot of love shown afterwards.

On Saturday night, the teams will rematch in a game that will also take place in Charlotte.

Charles Lee, the coach of the Hornets, is well-known to many Celtics. When the Celtics won the NBA championship the previous season, he was an assistant coach in Boston.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics to a 124-109 victory on Friday with 32 points and 11 rebounds. After the final buzzer, Lee hugged a number of the Celtics on the court.

The Hornets will now play the Celtics back-to-back nights in an attempt to make an impact.

Williams, who played for Boston from 2019–20 to 2022–23, still annoyed the Celtics.

Charlotte Hornets What To Watch:

Miles Bridges and Grant Williams of Charlotte were both sent off on Friday night, and LaMelo Ball of the Hornets was also dismissed for a blatant foul. More serious issues might have arisen as a result of Williams' foul on Tatum.

"Probably not a hard foul, definitely not intentional," Williams told NBC Sports Boston. not attempting to cause harm to anyone. That's one of my best pals in the league, as everyone knows."

Perhaps the close relationship between Lee and Mazzulla prevented more serious issues.

Two nights later in Charlotte, the Celtics bounced back from their season-opening defeat. In the last 7 1/2 minutes, they scored 24 points more than the Hornets, with 15 of those Boston points coming from free throws.

After Lee complained about a no-call after Charlotte's Tre Mann drove into the lane, he was given a technical foul in the fourth quarter.

Maybe it contributed to the Hornets' annoyance. The Hornets only made 12 of the 47 free throws that were attempted by the end of the contest.

Mazzulla was given a technical foul earlier in the fourth quarter when the Celtics were ahead by one point.

Ball scored 31 points in 31 minutes, but he fouled out, so the Hornets had to be pleased with his performance. Although he only had four assists, his four turnovers weren't too bothersome.

Tidjane Salaun, a 19-year-old rookie who finished Friday night with nine points and six rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench, will be someone the Hornets want to see more of.
