Celtics @ Hawks
State Farm Arena, Atlanta, GA
Boston Celtics What To Watch:
After seven games, the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics haven't faced many opponents from the Eastern Conference.
Boston, which has won six of seven games so far this season—its only loss was a three-point overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers—has yet to play a club from the Western Conference.
The Celtics look to carry on their winning streak against the Atlanta Hawks on the road on Monday after defeating the Hornets in Charlotte back-to-back games.
Following their 124-109 triumph over Charlotte on Friday, the Celtics dominated the second half of their 113-103 victory over the Hornets on Saturday.
Due to a hip ailment, Boston forward Jaylen Brown will miss Monday's game for the second week in a row. This season, Brown has made six starts and averaged 25.7 points and 7.2 rebounds.
The Celtics will rely on their other offensive alternatives now that Brown is gone. Derrick White is scoring 18.7 points, Payton Pritchard is contributing 15.7, and Jayson Tatum is averaging 30.3 points.
To help finish the sweep of Charlotte on Saturday, Tatum scored 29 points and Pritchard contributed 22 points off the bench.
Boston's sole trip to Atlanta this season is this one. Last season, the Celtics dropped both of their road games against the Hawks, and they wrap off their four-game trip on Monday.
Atlanta Hawks What To Watch:
On the second night of a back-to-back set, Atlanta takes the court on Monday. The Hawks ended a four-game losing streak on Sunday by defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 126-111.
Kobe Bufkin (shoulder) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) are both out for an indeterminate period of time for Atlanta. Onyeka Okongwu (toe) and De'Andre Hunter (knee) were both unable to play on Sunday.
Trae Young contributed 23 points and 12 assists on Sunday, while Jalen Johnson finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Despite having a one-point deficit at the break, the Hawks went on a 7-0 run in the second half and never looked back.
After a four-game losing streak in which they gave up 126.3 points per game, the Hawks' defensive performance improved on Sunday.
