Atlanta Hawks What To Watch:

For the Hawks, Trae Young has made an excellent start.

The three-time All-Star averages 11 assists and 34 points a game. He is just the second player in NBA history to start a season with at least 30 points and 10 assists in consecutive games.

Oscar Robertson in 1961–62 was the other. That season, Robertson did it in the first three games.

Young finished with 38 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, and four steals in Friday's 125-120 victory over Charlotte at home. Young is trying to improve his defense and become a more well-rounded player, but he isn't letting go of his aggressive style at the other end.

He is now shooting 45% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc, while averaging 2.5 steals and five turnovers.

Young has helped Atlanta average 42 free-throw tries per game by making 25 of 29 attempts from the free-throw line.
So far, Oklahoma City is only averaging 16 attempts from the line.

Both teams won at home in their two meetings from the previous season.

Oklahoma City Thunder What To Watch:

Chet Holmgren, a big player with the Oklahoma City Thunder, was anticipated to improve in his second NBA season of competition.

Holmgren is shooting 52.8 percent from the field and averaging 23 points and 15 rebounds in two games.

When the Thunder play the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday to begin their home schedule, he will try to build on his impressive start.

Holmgren has been outstanding, but the Thunder's defense has also been strong. Even though it's early, Oklahoma City is giving up an NBA-high 91 points per contest.

Even though the Thunder have had a lot of success thus far, they have had trouble from a distance.

Only 16 of 76 3-point tries have been made by Oklahoma City (21.1 percent), which is only higher than the Indiana Pacers (19.7 percent) in the NBA.

The Thunder, who defeated the Chicago Bulls 114-95 on Saturday, are playing their second game of a back-to-back on Sunday. Additionally, it is the Hawks' first of a back-to-back set.

Since 2016–17, the Thunder are trying to get off to their first 3-0 start. For Atlanta, who last started 3-0 in 2020–21, it hasn't been that long.
